International Black Film Festival(s)
IBFF will began our upcoming season with a screening of the "I.O.U.S.A" a film about fiscal responsibility and the growing National debt that will be followed by more provocative films and a premiere screening of "Made in America" this spring.
"Made in America" is a documentary about California's epidemic gang violence and the war between the Crips and the Bloods that can be compared to the war formerly in Kosovo.
During the upcoming season our "Monthly Film Forums" will be held at St. Peter's Church on Manhattans' East side where in partnership with ITVS and PBS Independent Lens we will continue to stimulate social awareness, and endless discussions on history, humanity, society, and non-traditional points of view.
We're bringing the IBFF to Memphis in June 2009 in association with our partners in the City of Memphis Film Commission and our sponsor, American Legacy Magazine.
In addition, to our annual festival(s) the IBFF has developed venues wherein filmmakers can screen their films throughout the year. We invite you to participate in our "Meet the Makers" series that is supported by a generous grant from the New York State Council on the Arts and the Experimental Television Center and will host in person appearances of New York State artists, see, also, www.blackexponewyork.com.
We provide an uplifting and informative experience to a diverse audience and we invite you to participate in our upcoming programs by clicking on the calendar link below for information about IBFF venues, see, also, http://ibff.photosnyc.com.
